On the Wings of Dragon
Irthos has made his lair in the ruins of an old human keep and the connected caves beneath. The southeastern tower has long since crumbled and broken off, bringing with it a significant portion of the upper floors. The structure is still solid, and Irthos in fact finds the collapse pleasantly convenient as it allows him easier access to the fourth floor; he spends a significant portion of his time here when in his lair, observing the surroundings and watching for creatures encroaching on his territory. Because of the slope of the hill and the defensible design of the keep, the main entrance is actually into the second floor via a drawbridge. The collapsed floor section in the basement leads directly into the cave system below the keep. While sparsely furnished, it is quite habitable by most, though not terribly comfortable lacking bedding and other common comforts.
The cave system is deep and expansive and has not been fully explored or mapped by Irthos. He has established his hoard and living space in some of the larger cavern. There are several passages that lead out to various locations in the hills and can serve as secondary entrances and emergency exits. From time to time a humanoid or wild creature will wander into the system, and the foolish who fail to heed Irthos’s word rarely make it out in better shape than the entered.
